It offers a professional environment for individuals who seek impactful roles and career growth opportunities.Job DescriptionLead, coach, and supervise a non-attorney professional, including work allocation, performance management, recruitment, compensation reviews, and career development.Manage legal expenditures effectively, ensuring alignment with approved budgets and cost-control objectives.Collaborate closely with Law leadership by providing regular updates on legal activities, risks, priorities, and implementation of departmental initiatives.Deliver independent legal support on commercial matters, including providing practical legal advice, drafting, reviewing, and negotiating a broad range of contracts and agreements.Oversee and manage disputes, litigation, arbitration, and mediation matters, including case assessment, strategy development, engagement with external counsel, witness preparation, and management of proceedings.Serve as a strategic legal advisor and trusted business partner to the leadership team, supporting business decisions and acting as the primary legal contact for senior management.Partner with business teams to understand operational priorities and deliver proactive, commercially focused legal solutions.Provide comprehensive legal and corporate governance advice while ensuring compliance with company policies, applicable laws, and regulatory requirements across areas such as antitrust, anti-corruption, ethics, HSE, information protection, and international trade.Develop and deliver legal and compliance training programs, while managing relationships with external counsel, including selection, performance oversight, and budget management.The Successful ApplicantA successful Senior Legal Counsel / Chief Corporate Counsel should have:Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.) degree with admission to practice law in Malaysia with at least 7 to 10 years of relevant post-qualification legal experience.Excellent written and verbal communication skills in both English and Bahasa Malaysia.Demonstrated experience in managing litigation matters, including case strategy, coordination, and oversight.Proficiency in handling complex legal matters and providing sound legal advice.Ability to manage multiple tasks and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.Strong leadership and communication abilities to collaborate with internal and external parties.What's on OfferCompetitive salary range.Opportunities for regional exposure and professional development.Permanent role within a leading organization in the oil & gas industry.Supportive work environment with a focus on innovation and collaboration.This is a unique opportunity to join a prestigious organization in a leadership role.
