The Application & Materials Engineer provides technical expertise to support customers in selecting optimal sealing solutions based on operating conditions such as pressure, temperature, and media compatibility. The role also involves recommending suitable sealing compounds while aligning application requirements with material capabilities and manufacturing capacity to ensure performance, reliability, and customer satisfaction.

About Our Client

Our client is a manufacturing company specializing in sealing solutions, supplying products that support industrial operations with a focus on quality, reliability, and precision

Job Description

  • Support customer with defining the right Sealing Solution using his/her knowledge on Application Conditions (Pressure, Temperature, Media Compatibility, …) as well as Production capacity
  • Propose suitable compound for given application
  • Act as the technical representative towards Customers
  • Support Sales during Quotation process
  • Give feedback to Management on needed investments or material development
  • Work together with Compound supplier to develop appropriate formulation adjustments as well as cost optimization,
  • Evaluate supplier capability for suitable production, Support development of local supplier source (compound
  • and special applications)
  • Use Internal Costing file to make price calculation of Production Cost
  • Integrate fully inputs from external parties regarding Compound cost, transport & Customs, Process Inputs, …
  • Establishes and maintains a strong proactive relationship to the technical departments at the customers
  • Ensures intensive and efficient interaction with the Group re sources to assure a proper project execution
  • Building a strong network with other Compounding Expert as well as Application Engineers within the Group to exchange bright ideas and best practice experiences
  • Handling of customer projects from acquisition to completion of samples/pre-series production

The Successful Applicant

  • Bachelor degree in mechanical or material engineering or equivalent
  • Professional Experience 5 to 10 years significant experience in Rubber environment
  • Knowledge on rubber production, Knowledge on sealing applications
  • Experience in project management and solution selling in a technical environment
  • Technical specialist with selling skills
  • Strong technical problem solving skills
  • Project Management experience
  • CAD/ Autocad experience
  • Knowledge of IT-Tools (MS Office, Sales Tools)
