Job Description

As the Payroll Process Owner, you will be responsible for governing and enhancing payroll processes across assigned regions, ensuring efficiency, accuracy, and compliance at scale. You will also play a key role in transformation initiatives to evolve payroll operations.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Owning end-to-end payroll processes, ensuring consistency and best practices across regions
  • Identifying process gaps and driving continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and accuracy
  • Leading payroll transformation efforts, including automation and process optimisation
  • Collaborating with HR, Finance, and IT teams to ensure seamless integration with upstream and downstream processes
  • Supporting payroll system enhancements, implementations, and digitalisation initiatives
  • Ensuring compliance with local and international payroll regulations, with strong governance and controls
  • Monitoring legislative changes and proactively updating processes to mitigate risks
  • Conducting regular reviews and audits to maintain high-quality and compliant payroll operations

The Successful Applicant

A successful candidate should bring a balance of payroll expertise and process improvement mindset:

  • Proven experience in end-to-end payroll operations within a shared services or multinational environment
  • Exposure to managing or owning payroll processes across multiple countries or regions (experience supporting Europe is an advantage)
  • Solid understanding of payroll compliance, controls, and regulatory requirements
  • Proficiency in Mandarin (spoken and written) to effectively engage with stakeholders in China
  • Experience in process improvement, transformation initiatives, or payroll system implementations
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail
  • Adaptable and comfortable working in a fast-paced, evolving environment
