Job Description

  • Review, draft and negotiate commercial contracts and legal documents.
  • Provide practical legal advice on commercial, operational, insurance and regulatory matters.
  • Support contract negotiations and ensure compliance with legal and governance requirements.
  • Advise stakeholders on legal risks and practical business solutions.
  • Provide legal support for business projects and strategic initiatives.
  • Assist in implementing data privacy and governance frameworks.
  • Conduct privacy reviews, support DPIAs and maintain compliance documentation.
  • Support data privacy incidents, regulatory reporting and ongoing compliance.

The Successful Applicant

A successful Legal Counsel & Data Privacy Assistant Manager should have:

  • A degree in law or equivalent qualification.
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in an in-house legal role with at least 2 years focused on data privacy.
  • Exposure to commercial contracts and regulatory matters.
  • Strong skills in drafting and negotiating contracts.
  • Ability to interpret and apply legal frameworks effectively.
  • Experience in the insurance industry is advantageous.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
