About Our Client

An organisation within the engineering sector located in Kuala Lumpur.

Job Description

  • Drafting, reviewing, and negotiating standard and bespoke consultancy agreements, NDAs, framework agreements, professional appointments, and other commercial contracts.
  • Identifying and advising on legal and operational risks, including appropriate mitigation measures.
  • Supporting the implementation and ongoing review of legal policies, processes, standard contracts, and legal training programmes.
  • Championing the company's ethics and compliance programme.
  • Providing legal support on disputes, including alternative dispute resolution proceedings.
  • Advising on the company's global insurance programme and liaising with insurers and brokers to ensure adequate coverage.
  • Supporting management governance through legal risk identification, mitigation, and reporting.
  • Delivering legal training to operational and project teams.
  • Collaborating with Group legal teams on knowledge sharing, consistent legal practices, and cross-border matters.



The Successful Applicant

A successful Legal Counsel - APAC should have:

  • At least 5 to 7 years of post-qualification experience gained either in-house or at a reputable law firm.
  • Strong autonomy, efficiency, and resourcefulness, with the ability to manage responsibilities effectively and meet deadlines.
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively with stakeholders at all levels within a fast-paced and dynamic organisation.
  • Proficiency in reviewing and drafting legal documents and contracts.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks effectively.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
