This role will be a foundational hire in a newly established Shared Services setup, responsible for centralising payroll and HR operations while reducing manual processes. You will work closely with regional stakeholders to build a scalable, well‑governed payroll and data environment that supports future APAC growth.

Our client is a well‑established multinational organisation with strong brand recognition and a growing Asia Pacific footprint. As part of its regional transformation journey, the company is setting up a Malaysia‑based Shared Services Centre to strengthen governance, improve efficiency, and support long‑term regional scalability. This role offers the chance to join at the early stages of the setup, where your work will have a direct and lasting impact on how HR operations are structured and delivered.

Job Description

  • Act as the foundational hire for a newly established Shared Services setup, supporting the centralisation of payroll and HR operations
  • Own payroll input consolidation, HR data management, and benefits administration, ensuring accuracy, governance, and timely delivery
  • Partner closely with HR Business Partners and external payroll vendors to manage payroll execution, data flows, and operational issue resolution
  • Manage end‑to‑end employee lifecycle activities including onboarding, employment changes, and offboarding, maintaining high data integrity across systems
  • Support process review, standardisation, system testing, and reduction of manual work within SuccessFactors, starting with Malaysia and Singapore



The Successful Applicant

  • A minimum of 10-12 years of progressive experience across HR operations and payroll, ideally within a Shared Services or centralised HR environment
  • Proven exposure managing end‑to‑end employee lifecycle activities, including onboarding, employment changes, and offboarding
  • Strong payroll operations expertise, including hands‑on coordination with external payroll vendors
  • Experience working in or leading small, lean HR operations teams, with comfort operating hands‑on
  • Experience working with HRIS and payroll systems, with SAP SuccessFactors exposure preferred
  • A structured and detail‑oriented working style suited to building processes from the ground up
  • Strong English communication skills to effectively engage regional stakeholders
