Job Description

  • Lead the planning, development, and execution of design verification and validation test programmes for electronic and electro-mechanical products.
  • Provide technical support and engineering expertise to laboratory testing activities.
  • Develop and implement research projects focused on laboratory technologies and testing capabilities.
  • Design and deploy customised test equipment, fixtures, instrumentation, and testing methodologies to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
  • Apply industry standards and testing regulations to support product development and performance validation.
  • Establish and document proprietary testing methods for product performance, reliability, and durability evaluation.
  • Execute research activities supporting product development and engineering initiatives.
  • Develop and assess test strategies throughout key stages of the product development lifecycle.
  • Lead Design of Experiments (DOE), statistical analysis, and structured problem-solving activities to support engineering decisions.
  • Evaluate opportunities to automate laboratory testing processes and improve data acquisition capabilities.
  • Participate in engineering change reviews and ensure appropriate testing validation is completed prior to approval.
  • Support Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA) activities related to performance, reliability, and durability.
  • Maintain laboratory documentation, test standards, records, and technical archives.
  • Review test reports, interpret results, identify issues, and provide recommendations based on data-driven conclusions.
  • Manage external laboratory testing providers and ensure compliance with required procedures and standards.
  • Collaborate closely with product development teams to align testing activities with future product roadmaps.
  • Recommend and implement improvements to laboratory capabilities, processes, and overall operational effectiveness.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives using Lean principles to enhance testing efficiency and output.



The Successful Applicant

A successful Test Engineer II - Electronics should have:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, or a related Engineering/Physical Science discipline.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in engineering, testing, or product development environments.
  • Hands-on experience developing electro-mechanical systems involving embedded systems and application software.
  • Strong ability to interpret engineering documentation including schematics, technical drawings, and software code.
  • Experience using laboratory equipment such as oscilloscopes, digital multimeters, spectrum analysers, data acquisition systems, and software analysis tools.
  • Familiarity with CAD software and engineering laboratory tools.
  • Strong statistical analysis and structured problem-solving capabilities.
  • Exposure to Lean Product Development methodologies and Six Sigma practices is advantageous.
  • Experience in R&D laboratory testing, product validation, or related technical environments.
  • Experience designing, building, or maintaining test equipment and fixtures for product evaluation.
  • Ability to prepare technical reports, testing documentation, and procedures.
  • Knowledge of regulatory testing requirements and recognised industry standards.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
  • Able to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic development environment.
  • Willingness to travel and collaborate with global teams and external partners when required.
