About Our Client

Our client is a well‑established food manufacturing organisation with decades of operational history and a sizeable workforce. The business is strengthening its quality and food safety leadership to support long‑term sustainability, compliance and operational excellence.

Job Description

  • Develop, implement, and govern Quality, Food Safety, and Environmental (QA, QC & EHS) policies, procedures, and strategies aligned with business objectives.
  • Lead and oversee QA, QC, and Environmental functions across the organisation, managing a team of approximately 50 staff.
  • Drive compliance with ISO 22000, HACCP, GMP, Halal, and all relevant regulatory and certification requirements.
  • Plan and lead internal and external audits, certifications, and regulatory inspections, ensuring sustained readiness and compliance.
  • Oversee quality control activities, sanitation, and hygiene programmes to safeguard food safety and production standards.
  • Analyze quality performance metrics and trends, translating data into actionable insights to improve product quality and operational efficiency.
  • Act decisively on non‑conformances, CAPA, and critical food safety risks, including authority to stop production when required.
  • Build and sustain a strong quality culture within a traditional, long‑serving workforce through clear governance and visible leadership.
  • Partner closely with Production, R&D, Supply Chain, and Management to manage quality risks and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Stay current on industry trends, regulatory updates, and best practices to maintain competitiveness within the FMCG sector.

The Successful Applicant

  • Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Chemistry, Microbiology, Engineering, Manufacturing, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum 8 years' experience in QA/QC within food manufacturing, including at least 3 years in a leadership role.
  • Strong working knowledge of GMP, HACCP, ISO 22000, and other relevant FMCG regulatory requirements.
  • Proven experience implementing and maintaining Quality Management Systems and leading internal and external audits.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead, manage, and motivate large teams, including long‑tenured staff groups.
  • Strong capability in developing people, building quality culture, and upgrading skills in traditional environments.
  • Excellent problem‑solving and analytical skills to identify root causes and drive sustainable quality improvements.
  • Confident decision‑maker with the ability to stand firm, influence stakeholders, and manage change effectively.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills to work cross‑functionally with operations, procurement, R&D, and leadership.
  • Strategic yet pragmatic mindset, capable of implementing continuous improvements progressively without disrupting operations.
