About Our Client

An established and fast-growing manufacturing company is seeking an experienced Senior Material Planner to ensure material availability and support smooth production operations. This role plays a critical part in managing material readiness, inventory optimization, and supply continuity to meet customer demand and business objectives.

In this role, you will oversee end-to-end material planning activities, including demand analysis, inventory planning, shortage management, and supply risk mitigation. Leveraging systems such as SAP and Kinaxis RapidResponse, you will monitor material availability, analyze supply-demand gaps, and drive proactive actions to support production schedules and revenue targets.

You will work closely with Procurement, Engineering, Production, Warehouse, Logistics, and Customer teams to coordinate material requirements, manage engineering changes, and resolve supply chain challenges. You will also support inventory optimization initiatives, monitor excess and obsolete inventory risks, and enhance inventory management programs such as VMI, SMI, and JIT.

The successful candidate will drive planning accuracy through data analysis, scenario modelling, and continuous improvement initiatives while serving as a key liaison between internal stakeholders and customers to ensure timely material availability and operational excellence

Job Description

  • Lead material planning activities to ensure timely material availability and support uninterrupted production schedules and customer deliveries.
  • Monitor and manage material shortages, supply risks, and procurement activities, while proactively implementing corrective actions to mitigate disruptions.
  • Oversee inventory optimization initiatives, including safety stock reviews, engineering change implementation, and excess & obsolete inventory management.
  • Collaborate closely with Procurement, Engineering, Production, Warehouse, Logistics, and Customer teams to align demand, supply, and production requirements.
  • Perform material planning analysis, scenario modelling, and reporting using SAP and Kinaxis to support strategic decision-making and operational performance improvements.

The Successful Applicant

  • Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum 6-8 years of experience in Material Planning, Inventory Control, or Supply Chain Planning within a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong hands-on experience with SAP, Kinaxis RapidResponse, and advanced Microsoft Excel functions for data analysis and reporting.
  • Proven analytical, problem-solving, and inventory management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience in NPI and high-mix, low-volume (HMLV) manufacturing environments will be an added advantage.
  • Strong communication skills in English and Bahasa Malaysia; Mandarin proficiency is preferred for stakeholder and vendor coordination.
