You will work closely with cross‑functional stakeholders to ensure high data quality, consistency, and alignment with manufacturing and business processes.

A well‑established global manufacturing organisation operating complex production and engineering environments across multiple regions. Their Malaysia‑based Business Services team supports global master data operations, ensuring high standards of data consistency, quality, and governance across product, material, and manufacturing processes.

Job Description

  • Manage and govern Product / Material Master Data within a global manufacturing context.
  • Experience in Engineering Change processes (ECR / ECO / ECN).
  • Define and enforce data standards, ownership (RACI), and governance controls.
  • Design and operate data quality rules, scorecards, KPIs, and remediation workflows.
  • Support alignment of SAP (ECC / S4HANA) with PLM and downstream systems.
  • Curate and maintain Business Term Glossaries across product lifecycle processes.
  • Partner closely with global business process owners, engineering, supply chain, and IT teams.
  • Deliver end‑user training, SOPs, and job aids to drive adoption and standardisation.
  • Participate in governance forums, data stewardship councils, and escalation discussions.



The Successful Applicant

A successful Senior Specialist, Data Steward should have:

  • 5+ years of experience in Master Data / Data Stewardship / Data Governance, preferably in manufacturing environments.
  • Hands‑on experience owning or governing ECR / ECO / ECN processes
  • Strong hands‑on experience with SAP master data (Material Master mandatory).
  • Solid understanding of manufacturing business processes, including BOM, routing, and product lifecycle.
  • Proven experience defining data standards, data quality rules, and governance frameworks.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to explain data concepts to business users.
  • Exposure to Informatica IDMC / MDM360, IDQ, EDC, and Axon would be a plus.
