We are looking for an experienced HR Business Partner to support our Malaysia business as a trusted advisor to key stakeholders. This is a standalone, individual contributor role that combines strategic HR partnering with hands-on execution across the full employee lifecycle. This role offers significant stakeholder exposure and requires someone who is comfortable being on the ground, building relationships and understanding workforce challenges firsthand.

Job Description

  • Partner closely with business leaders to provide strategic and operational HR support.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor on employee relations, performance management, talent development, and organizational effectiveness.
  • Lead and manage industrial relations matters, including union engagement, negotiations, and collective agreements.
  • Drive employee engagement initiatives, particularly for blue-collar and frontline workforces, through focus groups and targeted engagement activities.
  • Support workforce planning, succession planning, and talent management initiatives.
  • Ensure compliance with Malaysian employment legislation and company policies.
  • Build strong relationships with employees and stakeholders across the business to foster a positive employee experience.
  • Travel across Malaysia, including key operational sites, to engage directly with employees, understand challenges, and support business needs.

The Successful Applicant

  • 8-10 years of HR experience, with strong exposure to Employee Relations and Industrial Relations.
  • Proven experience managing unionized environments and handling union-related matters.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence and challenge business leaders.
  • Experience driving employee engagement initiatives and facilitating focus groups.
  • Good understanding of Malaysian labour laws and employment regulations.
  • Hands-on, commercially minded, and comfortable operating independently in a standalone HR role.
  • Willingness to travel regularly within Malaysia to support operational sites and frontline employees.
