Job Description

  • Lead the design, implementation, and continuous enhancement of enterprise Oracle database platforms.
  • Manage high availability and disaster recovery solutions using Oracle RAC, Data Guard, ASM, RMAN, and related technologies.
  • Oversee database lifecycle management, including upgrades, migrations, patching, capacity planning, and technology refresh initiatives.
  • Monitor and optimize database performance while troubleshooting complex production issues across database, infrastructure, and application layers.
  • Drive database security, governance, compliance, auditing, encryption, and vulnerability management initiatives.
  • Support cloud adoption, automation, Infrastructure-as-Code, observability, and platform modernization programs.
  • Provide technical leadership during major incidents, root cause analysis, and enterprise-wide investigations.
  • Partner with infrastructure, cloud, cybersecurity, architecture, and application teams to deliver strategic technology initiatives.
  • Mentor engineers and champion engineering best practices across the organization.

The Successful Applicant

A successful Senior Database Administrator should have:

  • 8+ years of experience in Database Engineering, Database Administration, or Infrastructure Engineering within enterprise environments.
  • Strong expertise in Oracle Database technologies, including RAC, Data Guard, ASM, RMAN, OEM, backup & recovery, and performance tuning.
  • Experience supporting large-scale, business-critical production environments with stringent availability requirements.
  • Strong knowledge of Linux/Unix systems, storage, networking, and infrastructure architecture.
  • Hands-on experience with automation tools such as Shell Scripting, Python, Ansible, Terraform, Git, or similar technologies.
  • Knowledge of database security, compliance, governance, auditing, and access management.
  • Exposure to AWS or other cloud database platforms.
  • Experience with Microsoft SQL Server and Always On Availability Groups is an added advantage.
  • Strong stakeholder management, communication, and vendor management skills.
  • Proven experience leading enterprise migrations, modernization initiatives, and cross-functional projects.
