Purchasing & Material Management

• Manage purchasing activities for assigned materials, components, and commodities to support production requirements.
• Issue and manage Purchase Orders (POs), ensuring alignment with approved demand, production plans, pricing, and delivery schedules.
• Monitor material availability and work closely with planning teams to minimise potential supply shortages or production disruptions.
• Review material requirements, inventory levels, lead times, and supplier commitments to ensure continuity of supply.
• Expedite or reschedule material deliveries based on changes in production demand and business priorities.
• Proactively identify material constraints and implement appropriate recovery or mitigation plans.

CTB & Production Readiness

• Support Clear to Build (CTB) activities by ensuring critical materials and components are available according to production requirements.
• Work closely with Materials Planning and Production teams to identify shortages, constraints, and potential supply risks.
• Engage suppliers to resolve material shortages, delivery delays, and capacity constraints.
• Provide regular updates on material readiness and highlight potential risks that could impact production schedules.
• Drive corrective actions with relevant stakeholders to improve material availability and supply continuity.

New Product Introduction (NPI)

• Support purchasing and material readiness activities for New Product Introduction (NPI) projects.
• Coordinate with Engineering, Planning, Quality, and suppliers to ensure new materials and components are sourced and available according to project timelines.
• Manage supplier quotations, pricing, lead times, minimum order quantities, and other commercial requirements for new materials.
• Support the transition of new products from development or pilot stages into mass production.
• Identify potential sourcing or material risks during NPI and work with cross-functional teams to develop mitigation plans.

Supplier Management & Negotiation

• Manage day-to-day relationships with assigned suppliers and ensure adherence to agreed commercial and operational requirements.
• Negotiate pricing, lead times, delivery schedules, payment terms, and other commercial conditions where applicable.
• Monitor supplier performance across cost, quality, delivery, responsiveness, and service levels.
• Conduct regular follow-ups with suppliers on open orders, shortages, quality concerns, and delivery commitments.
• Support supplier performance reviews and drive corrective actions where required.
• Develop strong supplier relationships while protecting the organisation's commercial and operational interests.

Cost & Inventory Management

• Identify opportunities for cost reduction, price improvement, and purchasing efficiency.
• Analyse supplier quotations and conduct price comparisons to support sourcing and purchasing decisions.
• Work closely with Materials and Planning teams to balance material availability against inventory targets.
• Support initiatives to reduce excess and obsolete inventory and improve inventory utilisation.
• Monitor factors such as supplier lead times, MOQ requirements, pricing changes, and material availability that could impact overall supply chain performance.
