Job Description

  • Oversee general ledger activities and ensure the accuracy, completeness, and integrity of financial records.
  • Review and approve journal entries, including accruals, reclassifications, payroll, share-based compensation, and expense-related postings.
  • Lead month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing activities to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting.
  • Ensure compliance with accounting standards, company policies, and internal control requirements.
  • Oversee balance sheet and subledger reconciliations, ensuring timely resolution of discrepancies.
  • Analyze and resolve aged items, abnormal balances, and recurring reconciliation issues.
  • Monitor and manage accruals, prepayments, amortization, and other key balance sheet accounts.
  • Prepare and review balance sheet reconciliations and variance analysis.
  • Ensure compliance with SOX requirements and internal control frameworks.
  • Act as the primary liaison for internal and external audit engagements.
  • Partner with auditors and key stakeholders to address audit findings and strengthen control effectiveness.
  • Maintain strong governance and compliance across all accounting processes.
  • Manage outsourced accounting service providers to ensure service quality, timeliness, and compliance.
  • Monitor performance against agreed KPIs, SLAs, and operational targets.
  • Drive continuous service improvements and effectively manage escalations.
  • Provide leadership, coaching, and performance management to accounting teams and outsourced partners.
  • Collaborate closely with Shared Services, Corporate Finance, Business Units, Controllers, and Technical Accounting teams.
  • Provide accounting guidance across multiple legal entities and regional operations.
  • Communicate financial and operational updates to senior leadership and key stakeholders.
  • Drive accounting process standardization across regions and ERP platforms.
  • Identify and implement automation initiatives and process improvement opportunities.
  • Support finance transformation programs, system implementations, acquisitions, and integration activities.
  • Maintain accurate, audit-ready process documentation and standard operating procedures.
  • Lead accounting-related projects and strategic initiatives.
  • Support the integration of acquired businesses into existing accounting processes and controls.
  • Ensure successful project execution and delivery in alignment with business objectives.

The Successful Applicant

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • At least 8-10 years of progressive experience in accounting and finance.
  • Minimum 5 years of proven people management and leadership experience.
  • Prior experience within a regional or global Shared Services environment is highly preferred.
  • Strong understanding of US GAAP and/or IFRS accounting standards.
