The Pre-Sales Engineer will be responsible to design, position, and validate Building Management System (BMS) solutions for customers across various industries. The role combines technical consulting, solution architecture, customer engagement, proof-of-concept execution, and targeted post-sales support to ensure successful deployment, integration, and adoption of smart building technologies.

Job Description

  • Review and validate BMS/BAS specifications and system designs.
  • Provide technical consultation and solution architecture guidance to customers, consultants, and internal sales teams.
  • Gather customer requirements and develop scalable end-to-end BMS solutions.
  • Deliver technical presentations, demonstrations, and solution workshops.
  • Plan and execute proof-of-concepts, pilot projects, and solution validations.
  • Influence technical specifications and design decisions with stakeholders and consultants.
  • Conduct technical training and enablement sessions for sales and internal teams.
  • Provide on-site support for complex deployments, commissioning, and critical escalations.
  • Troubleshoot system integration, performance, and operational issues across BMS environments.
  • Collaborate with engineering and support teams to improve products, validate new releases, and resolve technical challenges.

The Successful Applicant

  • Experience in Building Automation Systems (BAS), Building Management Systems (BMS), HVAC controls, or smart building technologies.
  • Proven experience in pre-sales engineering, solution design, and customer-facing technical roles.
  • Experience working with consultants, system integrators, and enterprise customers.
  • Exposure to the complete project lifecycle from design through commissioning and support.
  • Strong knowledge of BMS/BAS platforms, HVAC controls, SCADA, and energy management systems.
  • Hands-on experience with BACnet, Modbus, LonWorks, KNX, and related integration technologies.
  • Solid understanding of IP networking, including TCP/IP, routing, and VLANs.
  • Ability to work across both hardware and software components of building automation systems.
  • Strong troubleshooting, commissioning, diagnostic, and optimization skills.
  • Knowledge of commercial buildings, data centers, healthcare facilities, airports, and industrial environments.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, stakeholder management, and training skills.
  • Relevant BMS/BAS or industrial communication protocol certifications are preferred.
  • Willingness to travel extensively for customer engagements and site support.
