Our client is a leading industrial manufacturing group with significant operations in Malaysia and a strong regional presence.

Job Description

Reporting to the senior leadership team, you will provide overall strategic and operational leadership for the manufacturing operation, ensuring strong performance across production, people, cost, quality and safety.You will:

  • Provide leadership across production, engineering, maintenance, quality, logistics and supporting functions.
  • Lead and develop a large workforce, fostering a culture of accountability, safety, performance and continuous improvement.
  • Drive operational excellence across productivity, yield, cost, quality, reliability and efficiency.
  • Establish and drive operational KPIs aligned with the organisation's strategic and commercial objectives.
  • Partner closely with senior leadership, commercial, finance and supply chain teams to translate business strategy into operational execution.
  • Lead CAPEX planning and investment decisions, balancing capacity, capability, operational requirements and commercial returns.
  • Drive Lean Manufacturing, continuous improvement, automation and process optimisation initiatives.
  • Strengthen operational governance across EHS, quality, compliance and risk management.
  • Build organisational capability through succession planning, talent development and leadership development.
  • Lead transformation and change initiatives across a complex, high-volume manufacturing environment.
  • Maintain strong visibility on the shop floor and ensure operational strategies translate into measurable results.



The Successful Applicant

You will be an experienced Operations Director, Manufacturing Director, Plant Director or equivalent senior operations leader with a proven track record managing large-scale and complex manufacturing operations.

You should bring:

  • Significant experience leading large manufacturing operations with a sizeable workforce.
  • Strong leadership experience across multiple functions including production, engineering, quality, maintenance, supply chain and logistics.
  • A proven track record of improving productivity, cost, quality, safety and operational efficiency.
  • Strong commercial and financial acumen, including experience managing significant operational budgets and CAPEX investments.
  • Experience in high-volume, complex manufacturing environments such as semiconductor, EMS/electronics, automotive, industrial, metals, chemicals or other large-scale manufacturing sectors.
  • Strong understanding of Lean Manufacturing, Operational Excellence and continuous improvement.
  • The ability to lead through complexity, influence senior stakeholders and build high-performing leadership teams.
  • A strong balance of strategic leadership and hands-on operational presence.
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder management and people leadership capabilities.
