Job Description

  • Lead the development, optimisation, and standardisation of manufacturing processes for new product introductions.
  • Implement advanced manufacturing technologies, process innovations, and automation solutions to support business growth and customer requirements.
  • Identify manufacturing capability gaps and drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance productivity and process performance.
  • Establish process flows, manufacturing routings, work instructions, and operating standards.
  • Ensure manufacturing readiness for pilot builds, qualification activities, and mass production.
  • Act as the manufacturing process lead throughout the NPI lifecycle, from concept development to production launch.
  • Coordinate engineering change implementation and ensure updates are reflected in manufacturing systems and documentation.
  • Partner with Design, Programme Management, Quality, Supply Chain, Engineering, and Operations teams to ensure successful product industrialisation.
  • Drive NPI milestones and manufacturing deliverables in accordance with project schedules.
  • Plan and execute first article builds, process qualifications, and validation activities.
  • Conduct process capability studies to verify process stability, repeatability, and compliance with requirements.
  • Define requirements for manufacturing equipment, tooling, fixtures, and automation systems.
  • Lead equipment procurement, installation, commissioning, qualification, and capacity verification activities.
  • Ensure manufacturing resources and capacity support customer demand and production ramp plans.
  • Lead engineering builds, EVT, DVT, PVT, PPVT, and pilot production activities.
  • Analyse build performance, identify process gaps, and implement effective corrective actions.
  • Conduct readiness reviews and drive lessons-learned activities before product release.
  • Monitor yield performance and lead improvement initiatives to enhance quality and manufacturing efficiency.
  • Perform root cause analysis and implement corrective and preventive actions for process-related issues.
  • Support compliance with customer requirements, industry standards, and regulatory expectations.
  • Develop manufacturing capacity plans and strategies to support production ramp-up activities.
  • Identify throughput constraints and implement solutions to improve operational efficiency.
  • Facilitate effective transfer of products and processes from NPI into sustaining manufacturing operations.
  • Coordinate cross-functional activities across Process Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Test Engineering, Quality, Production, and Supply Chain teams.
  • Communicate project status, risks, issues, and mitigation plans to key stakeholders and management.
  • Maintain manufacturing documentation, including Process Flows, PFMEA, Work Instructions, Equipment Qualification Records, Control Plans, and Validation Reports.
  • Ensure compliance with ISO standards, customer requirements, and relevant industry regulations.



The Successful Applicant

A successful NPI Process Engineer (Senior Lead / Staff level) should have:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Manufacturing, Mechanical, Electronics Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Master's Degree is advantageous.
  • 8-12 years of experience in manufacturing engineering, process engineering, or NPI environments.
  • Minimum 3-5 years of leadership or managerial experience.
  • Experience within PCBA, networking products, servers, storage systems, or electronics manufacturing industries.
  • Strong understanding of NPI methodologies and product industrialisation processes.
  • Hands-on experience with PFMEA, Control Plans, MSA, SPC, DOE, and process validation techniques.
  • Knowledge of SMT, PCBA, box build, system integration, and test manufacturing processes.
  • Experience in equipment specification, qualification, and capacity planning.
  • Strong leadership, coaching, and team development capabilities.
  • Excellent project management and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
  • Effective communication and presentation skills.
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail in documentation and system implementation.
  • Familiarity with MES, ERP/SAP, and manufacturing shop floor control systems.
  • Ability to manage multiple engineering changes and priorities within a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong cross-functional collaboration and coordination skills.
  • Structured approach to problem-solving and process improvement.
  • Knowledge of quality management systems, ISO standards, IPC standards, and customer-specific requirements.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, data analysis, and reporting tools.
