About Our Client

Our client is a globally recognized manufacturing organization supporting leading technology customers across a highly dynamic and fast-paced environment. As part of its ongoing growth and commitment to operational excellence, the company is seeking a NPI Buyer to strengthen its procurement and materials management function.

This role offers the opportunity to work closely with cross-functional teams, suppliers, and customers to ensure material availability, support manufacturing requirements, and drive supply chain performance across key programs

Job Description

  • Manage procurement activities for assigned NPI projects and ensure material readiness to support build requirements.
  • Drive clear-to-build (CTB) reviews and resolve critical material shortages to support project timelines.
  • Work closely with Planning teams to monitor material status and address supply-related risks.
  • Conduct RFQs and supplier assessments to identify the best sourcing solutions for new projects.
  • Perform market research and evaluate suppliers based on quality, cost, capability, and delivery performance.
  • Develop risk mitigation plans to address potential supply chain disruptions impacting NPI programs.
  • Collaborate with Engineering, R&D, Quality, Manufacturing, and Planning teams to ensure sourcing strategies align with project requirements.
  • Participate in design reviews and support engineering change activities, including ECO implementation, part transitions, and rework requirements.
  • Drive lead-time reduction, inventory optimization, and supply chain efficiency initiatives for NPI projects.
  • Manage supplier communication and ensure timely execution of procurement deliverables throughout the product development cycle.
  • Support excess and obsolete (E&O) inventory reduction initiatives through supplier collaboration and rework programs.
  • Work with Finance and Accounts Payable teams to resolve supplier invoice and payment issues.
  • Ensure suppliers comply with shipment approval processes and project requirements.



The Successful Applicant

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum 7 years of procurement, purchasing, or sourcing experience, with exposure to NPI or product development environments.
  • Experience within manufacturing, electronics, technology, or industrial environments.
  • Strong understanding of procurement processes, supplier management, inventory control, and engineering change management.
  • Knowledge of production planning, MRP, scheduling, and manufacturing systems.
  • Proven supplier negotiation and stakeholder management skills.
  • Strong project management capability with the ability to manage multiple NPI projects simultaneously.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Experience with ERP systems, particularly SAP, would be advantageous.
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or continuous improvement methodologies is an added advantage.
