This position is responsible for sourcing and managing indirect materials and services categories while ensuring cost competitiveness, supplier performance, and compliance with procurement policies. The role also drives procurement excellence through spend analytics, supplier rationalisation, system utilisation, and process improvement initiatives.

Job Description

  • Lead and support indirect procurement sourcing projects from planning through implementation.
  • Ensure sourcing activities align with business objectives and category strategies.
  • Represent procurement during project kick-offs, reviews, and execution meetings.
  • Align stakeholders on scope, service expectations, timelines, and commercial arrangements.
  • Monitor supplier performance covering cost, quality, service level, and delivery.
  • Resolve supplier issues and drive corrective actions when necessary.
  • Conduct spend analysis.
  • Identify savings opportunities and supplier consolidation initiatives.
  • Prepare data-driven procurement reports and recommendations.
  • Utilise procurement tools such as SAP-related systems, K.Procure, and SAC.
  • Ensure procurement policy compliance and audit-ready documentation.
  • Improve procurement processes and standardisation.
  • Reduce maverick spending and strengthen purchasing controls.

The Successful Applicant

  • A successful Indirect Materials & Services Buyer should have:
  • Degree in Supply Chain, Business Administration, Engineering, or related disciplines.
  • At least 5 years of procurement/sourcing experience, particularly within indirect categories.
  • Experience managing tenders, RFQs, negotiations, and suppliers independently.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills and confidence engaging multiple departments.
  • Advanced Excel and reporting capabilities with strong analytical thinking.
  • ERP exposure, ideally SAP or comparable procurement platforms
