Job Description

  • Identify and establish channels to gather ASEAN regulatory requirements, including market access and non-access standards.
  • Monitor government portals and industry updates to track regulatory developments impacting R&D.
  • Interpret ASEAN technical regulations and conduct compliance assessments for R&D projects.
  • Build and maintain a technical regulatory database to ensure up-to-date access for R&D teams.
  • Compile vehicle technical requirements for ASEAN markets to support product planning and development.
  • Support local homologation activities, including coordinating testing and securing regional certifications.
  • Streamline compliance processes from customs clearance through to product registration.
  • Act as liaison with government agencies, industry associations, and regulatory bodies.
  • Track emerging policies and standards for new technologies and assess impact on product roadmap.
  • Deliver training on regulatory requirements and customs compliance to internal teams.
  • Perform additional technical support tasks as assigned by management.



The Successful Applicant

A successful Homologation Engineer should have:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline
  • 3-5 years of experience in homologation, compliance, or regulatory roles (automotive preferred)
  • Strong understanding of ASEAN vehicle regulations and technical standards
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills to address compliance challenges
  • Effective communication and stakeholder management abilities
  • Experience in project management and cross-functional collaboration
  • Proficiency in English and Bahasa Malaysia
