About Our Client

An established organisation in the Media & Entertainment industry, based in Malaysia, focused on delivering impactful financial oversight.

Job Description

  • 6-9 years of experience in accounting/finance, including at least 3 years of hands-on experience working with Web3, crypto, or digital-asset accounting.
  • Professional accounting qualification preferred (e.g., CPA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent).
  • Practical understanding of blockchain fundamentals, DeFi protocols, and crypto wallet infrastructure (e.g., Gnosis Safe / multi-signature wallets).
  • Hands-on experience accounting for crypto transactions, including valuation, cost basis tracking, gains/losses, staking/yield income, and relevant tax/reporting treatment.
  • Experience operating independently as the primary finance owner, with strong ownership and the ability to build processes and controls in an evolving environment.
  • Strong Excel/Google Sheets skills; experience with accounting software (e.g., Xero, QuickBooks, NetSuite) and crypto accounting tools.
  • High attention to detail and a strong internal-controls mindset, particularly around crypto custody, wallet management, and transaction approvals.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to work directly with founders, auditors, and external partners.

The Successful Applicant

A successful Finance Manager should have:

  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting standards.
  • Prior Finance/Accounting experience within Web3, Crypto, Blockchain, DeFi, Gaming, or other digital asset-related environments, with exposure to token ecosystems, digital assets, and crypto-native financial operations.
  • Experience managing crypto finance activities, including audits, blockchain transaction reviews, financial controls, reporting frameworks, and DeFi activities (e.g., staking, liquidity pools, lending/borrowing) within a fast-growing or startup environment.
  • Proficiency in financial management software and tools.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • A degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Professional certifications such as CPA, ACCA, or equivalent are an advantage.
