The DevOps Engineer (Event Engine) will be responsible for maintaining and optimizing the deployment processes within the Industrial / Manufacturing industry. This temporary role focuses on implementing innovative solutions to enhance operational efficiency in the Technology department.

Job Description

  • Develop and maintain core applications, event-driven systems, and infrastructure components to support operational reliability.
  • Automate configuration and deployment using Ansible (playbooks, roles, inventory, vault, tags).
  • Administer Linux systems, manage users, permissions, and systemd services/timers for smooth operations.
  • Build and manage Docker containers, including networking, volume mounting, and integration with Azure Container Registry.
  • Configure and maintain Elasticsearch & Kibana clusters, implement ILM policies, OIDC authentication, and logging with Fluentd.
  • Support Python environments using pyenv, Poetry, and virtual environments; assist with event extraction systems and GitHub runner setup.
  • Demonstrate strong communication skills, basic data handling knowledge (including time-series concepts), and interest in the subject matter beyond technical execution.

The Successful Applicant

A successful DevOps Engineer (Event Engine) should have:

  • A degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Proficiency in DevOps tools and methodologies.
  • Strong understanding of event-driven architecture and deployment pipelines.
  • Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams effectively.
  • Experience in troubleshooting and optimizing system performance.
  • Knowledge of automation tools and processes.
  • Commitment to maintaining high-quality standards and compliance.
