The Demand Planning Analyst is responsible for developing accurate, data-driven demand forecasts that support business planning, inventory optimisation, and commercial decision-making. This role combines advanced forecasting techniques, statistical analysis, and business insights to generate robust baseline forecasts and demand projections across product portfolios.

Job Description



Demand Forecasting & Analytics

  • Develop and maintain statistically driven baseline demand forecasts using historical sales trends, market intelligence, syndicated data, and customer demand signals.
  • Apply advanced forecasting methodologies to generate accurate short, medium, and long-term demand projections.
  • Analyse internal and external datasets to identify trends, demand patterns, seasonality, and business drivers.
  • Support Demand Planners by providing analytical insights that help incorporate local market assumptions and commercial strategies into the forecast.



Scenario Planning & Demand Insights

  • Build forecasting simulations and scenario analyses to assess the potential impact of market changes, business initiatives, pricing actions, or external disruptions.
  • Provide actionable recommendations through predictive insights and data-driven forecasting models.
  • Partner with commercial and supply chain stakeholders to evaluate risks, opportunities, and demand variability.
  • Support decision-making by translating complex analysis into meaningful business insights.



Forecast Model Management

  • Develop, validate, and continuously enhance statistical forecasting models across multiple product categories and markets.
  • Conduct time-series analysis, trend identification, seasonality assessments, and demand pattern evaluations.
  • Monitor forecast performance and implement adjustments to improve forecast accuracy and bias.
  • Document forecasting assumptions, methodologies, and model performance metrics.



Data Quality & Governance

  • Lead data quality reviews to identify inconsistencies, anomalies, and forecasting exceptions.
  • Design and maintain data validation frameworks to improve forecast reliability and reporting accuracy.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to investigate outliers and determine whether deviations are driven by business events or data issues.
  • Maintain transparency and governance through accurate documentation, audit trails, and forecasting records.



Continuous Improvement & Digital Enablement

  • Identify opportunities to improve forecasting processes, methodologies, and planning capabilities.
  • Partner with Technology, Data Analytics, and Global Process Teams to enhance forecasting automation and reporting solutions.
  • Support the development of dashboards, KPIs, and analytical tools that improve forecasting visibility and decision-making.
  • Drive best practices in demand planning, forecasting accuracy, and supply chain analytics.

The Successful Applicant



Education

  • Bachelor's Degree in Statistics, Data Science, Economics, Supply Chain, Mathematics, Engineering, Business Analytics, or a related discipline.



Experience

  • 3 years of experience in Demand Planning, Forecasting, Supply Chain Analytics, Business Intelligence, or Data Analytics.
  • Experience working with large datasets and applying statistical models to business forecasting challenges.
  • Exposure to FMCG, Consumer Goods, Manufacturing, Retail, Healthcare, or Supply Chain environments is preferred.
  • Experience supporting Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP), Integrated Business Planning (IBP), or Demand Planning processes is advantageous.
