The Data Engineer will play a key role in supporting the Technology department by designing, building, and maintaining data infrastructure within the Industrial / Manufacturing industry. This position is based in Selangor and requires expertise in handling data systems to ensure efficient operations.

Job Description

  • Stay updated on emerging technologies and integrate them into existing systems when appropriate.Python for data engineering (Pandas, SQLAlchemy/DB-API, modular code, error handling, logging).
  • Strong SQL skills: joins, aggregations, window functions, query optimization, and PostgreSQL basics (indexes, EXPLAIN).
  • Understanding of data modeling concepts (OLTP vs OLAP, dimensional modeling, SCD basics) and data warehousing patterns.
  • Experience with ETL/ELT orchestration (e.g., cron, Airflow, Azure Data Factory, Prefect) and working with files (CSV/Parquet/JSON).
  • Solid grasp of version control (Git), environments, and basic CI/CD for data workflows.
  • Comfortable with Docker-based development and writing clear technical documentation.

The Successful Applicant

A successful Data Engineer should have:
