Job Description

As a Senior BIM Engineer, you will play a critical role in driving BIM implementation and coordination across complex engineering and infrastructure projects while ensuring adherence to industry standards and project requirements.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Lead the planning, implementation, and management of BIM activities throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Develop, maintain, review, and coordinate BIM models to ensure accuracy, consistency, and compliance with project standards.
  • Collaborate closely with project teams, consultants, contractors, and stakeholders to resolve design conflicts and model coordination issues.
  • Conduct BIM model reviews, clash detection, and quality assurance assessments to maintain high-quality project deliverables.
  • Establish and promote BIM best practices, standards, and workflows across project teams.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement strategies to enhance project delivery efficiency.
  • Manage complex modelling and drafting assignments independently while ensuring timely project completion.
  • Provide technical leadership, coaching, and mentorship to junior BIM engineers and modelers.
  • Support digital engineering initiatives and contribute to continuous innovation within the BIM function.
  • Assist project management teams by providing technical input, coordination support, and BIM-related reporting.

The Successful Applicant

The ideal candidate should possess:

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Architecture, Information Technology, or a related discipline.



Experience

  • Minimum 10 years of experience in BIM modelling, BIM coordination, and project delivery within engineering, infrastructure, or construction environments.
  • Proven experience managing multidisciplinary BIM projects from design through implementation.



Technical Skills

  • Strong understanding of:
    • Civil Engineering Design
    • Mechanical Engineering Services
    • Electrical Engineering Services
    • Engineering Documentation and Drawings
  • Ability to interpret and coordinate both 2D and 3D engineering drawings and models.
  • Advanced proficiency in:
    • Autodesk Revit
    • Navisworks
    • Civil 3D
    • Other industry-standard BIM software platforms
  • Experience withBIM automation, scripting, or programming languages such as:
    • Python
    • Dynamo
    • Java
    • C#
    • C++ (advantageous)
