Job Description

  • Oversee and manage daily workshop operations to ensure efficiency, quality, and compliance
  • Lead, motivate, and develop workshop, service, and sales support teams
  • Establish and run planning, review, and follow-up routines to track performance and address deviations
  • Ensure smooth workflow of authorised jobs with proper quality control and documentation
  • Maintain high standards of cleanliness, safety, and organisation across workshop facilities
  • Monitor workshop tools, equipment, and facilities, including maintenance, calibration, and procurement
  • Coordinate spare parts activities to ensure availability and adherence to warranty procedures
  • Build and maintain strong customer relationships, handling escalations and complex issues when required
  • Support customers and team members on technical matters
  • Drive service solution sales by promoting and communicating the service portfolio
  • Track workshop financial performance, budgets, KPIs, and operational targets
  • Identify improvement opportunities and lead continuous improvement initiatives
  • Ensure compliance with safety, health, environmental, and regulatory standards



The Successful Applicant

A successful Workshop Manager should have:

  • Tertiary education or equivalent qualification
  • Strong technical background, preferably in automotive or heavy vehicle environments
  • Proven experience managing or supervising workshop or service operations
  • Demonstrated P&L responsibility or strong commercial and financial management mindset
  • Experience managing budgets, costs, margins, and operational profitability
  • Ability to analyse financial and operational data to drive performance improvements
  • Experience leading and developing teams in a customer-focused setting
  • Sound understanding of business operations, KPI management, and resource planning
  • Strong customer relationship and complaint management skills
  • Knowledge of safety, health, and environmental regulations
  • Hands-on problem-solving and continuous improvement mindset
  • Heavy vehicle licence is an advantage
