As a Unix Admin, you will be responsible for managing and maintaining Unix systems to ensure optimal performance and reliability. This role is ideal for a candidate with a strong technical background in the Technology & Telecoms industry.

Job Description

  • Identifying, diagnosing, and resolving the escalated incident in Linux/Unix Server platforms
  • Escalated the case to L3 Infrastructure/application team if need
  • Perform the regular server operations such as setup, upgrade, patches deployment, monitoring and health checks, backup and restore etc…
  • Responsible for system troubleshooting and performance turning.
  • Prepare and maintain technical documentations.
  • Providing support on issues related to servers and storages
  • Liaise with external vendors for IT Server operations and maintenance

The Successful Applicant

A successful Unix Admin should have:

  • The ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Bachelor in Computer Science or related discipline;
  • Holder of ITIL Foundation or above is a plus
  • >2 years relevant working experiences in Linux Servers, VMware, x86 servers and storage
  • Sizeable company and ITIL experience is preferable
  • Self-motivated, quick learner, Can-do attitude and able to work under pressure
  • Good written and verbal communication skills in English, and Cantonese is a plus
  • Knowing in AIX/HPUX/Solaris is a plus
  • Willing to work night shift & and on public holidays
