The role works closely with the Transport Manager to optimize fleet utilization, maintain operational efficiency, and support service excellence across the transport network.

Our client is an established transportation and logistics service provider with a large fleet operation supporting high-volume vehicle movements. The organization offers a dynamic operations environment where transport professionals can gain exposure to fleet planning, dispatch coordination, and continuous operational improvement.

Job Description

  • Receive, process, and schedule customer orders while ensuring service level commitments are achieved.
  • Coordinate vehicle collections and deliveries and provide customers with timely updates on order status.
  • Monitor orders from booking through proof of delivery and maintain accurate operational records.
  • Allocate transport jobs efficiently across available vehicles and drivers.
  • Develop daily load plans to maximize fleet utilization and minimize empty mileage.
  • Optimize multi-drop routes and delivery schedules to improve operational efficiency.
  • Verify load plans against vehicle capacity and safety requirements before dispatch.
  • Prepare driver rosters, run sheets, and daily schedules while coordinating closely with drivers.
  • Monitor driver compliance, including licence validity, working hours, rest periods, and telematics data.
  • Resolve day-to-day operational issues, handle driver queries, and escalate exceptions or performance concerns when required.

The Successful Applicant

A successful Transport Executive should have:

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in transport operations, dispatch coordination, logistics operations, or load planning.
  • Strong understanding of transport scheduling, fleet coordination, and order management processes.
  • Experience using spreadsheets, transport management systems (TMS), or fleet scheduling software.
  • Knowledge of load planning principles and driver documentation requirements.
  • Familiarity with route optimization and telematics systems is an advantage.
  • Understanding of Malaysian transport regulations, driver-hour requirements, and GDL compliance is preferred.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Effective communication skills in English and Bahasa Malaysia.
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple operational priorities.
