The Site Maintenance Manager will be responsible to lead all technical site services activities, including mechanical, electrical and instrumentation maintenance, utilities, wastewater treatment and site infrastructure. The role ensures safe, reliable, compliant and cost-effective operations while driving asset reliability, team performance, continuous improvement and engineering excellence.

Job Description

  • Lead and manage technical site services functions, including mechanical maintenance, electrical and instrumentation maintenance, utilities, wastewater treatment and site infrastructure
  • Ensure safe work practices, housekeeping standards and compliance with EHS policies and procedures
  • Liaise with regulatory authorities and ensure all permits, licences, certifications and statutory requirements are maintained
  • Oversee maintenance documentation and ensure compliance with ISO and quality management requirements
  • Lead multidisciplinary technical teams and develop workforce capability, competency and succession plans
  • Manage corrective, preventive and predictive maintenance programmes to maximise equipment reliability and plant performance
  • Drive maintenance planning, scheduling and execution through SAP PM systems
  • Collaborate with production and site stakeholders on maintenance priorities, planning and execution
  • Support and implement engineering best practices through engagement with regional technical and engineering communities
  • Lead small capital projects and management of change initiatives
  • Manage plant turnaround activities, including planning, execution and completion
  • Oversee spare parts inventory management while maintaining cost efficiency and availability of critical equipment
  • Ensure equipment installation and modifications comply with engineering, safety and regulatory standards
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on reliability, maintenance effectiveness and operational performance
  • Develop, monitor and report departmental KPIs and performance metrics
  • Support annual maintenance and capital expenditure budget planning and management
  • Conduct engineering, maintenance and utilities cost analysis to optimise operational expenditure
  • Manage supplier relationships, service agreements and contract negotiations
  • Oversee contractor procurement, workforce deployment, scheduling and performance management
  • Ensure all technical and equipment-related documentation remains accurate and up to date

The Successful Applicant

  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Mechatronics, Manufacturing Engineering or a related engineering discipline
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in maintenance, engineering, utilities, infrastructure or technical services within manufacturing or process industries
  • Proven experience leading multidisciplinary engineering and maintenance teams
  • Strong knowledge of maintenance management, asset reliability and plant engineering practices
  • Experience managing utilities, site infrastructure and technical services operations
  • Hands-on experience with SAP PM or similar maintenance management systems
  • Knowledge of turnaround management, CAPEX project execution and Management of Change processes
  • Strong understanding of EHS, ISO and statutory compliance requirements
  • Experience in contractor management, supplier negotiations and budget control
  • Excellent leadership, stakeholder management, communication and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to drive innovation, develop teams, collaborate across functions and deliver continuous improvement initiatives
