This role is responsible for driving supplier performance, qualification, localization initiatives, and strategic sourcing activities to support business growth and operational excellence.In this role, you will manage a range of Build-to-Print commodities, including connectors, cable harnesses, PCB, metal, machining, plastics, power supplies, and thermal technologies. You will oversee supplier qualification, quality audits, performance improvements, cost reduction initiatives, and supplier development programs to ensure suppliers meet quality, cost, and delivery expectations.Working closely with Commodity Management, Engineering, Quality, Operations, and Sourcing teams, you will drive continuous improvement, resolve supplier-related issues, and support new product and localization projects. You will also lead and develop a team while building strong relationships with suppliers and stakeholders globally.The ideal candidate will have strong experience in supplier quality, commodity engineering, strategic sourcing, and manufacturing environments, particularly within high-speed interconnects, fibre optics, connector or cable harness industries. Strong stakeholder management, leadership, and problem-solving skills will be essential for success in this role.Job DescriptionLead global commodity engineering activities across a broad range of Build-to-Print commodities, including: Connectors, Cable Harnesses, PCB, Power Supplies, Metal Fabrication, Complex Machining, Plastic Injection Moulding, Thermal & Liquid Cooling Technologies, Hardware, Fluidics, and Automation TechnologiesManage and develop a team of Commodity Engineering professionals, ensuring compliance, capability development, and knowledge sharing.Drive supplier qualification, onboarding, and quality system audits in accordance with industry standards such as: ISO 9001, ISO 13485, AS9100, ISO 14001, IATF 16949, VDA 6.3.Monitor and improve supplier quality performance through corrective actions, continuous improvement initiatives, and performance management programs.Lead localization projects and First Article Inspection (FAI) qualification activities to support supply chain resilience and business expansion.Support commodity sourcing activities, including RFQs, supplier selection, cost reduction initiatives, and value improvement programs.Analyse supplier performance data using tools and methodologies such as DPPM, DMAIC, Lean, and Six Sigma to identify opportunities for process and quality improvements.Resolve supplier-related quality issues and work closely with internal stakeholders to ensure timely containment and corrective actions.Collaborate with Engineering, Quality, Procurement, Operations, and Project Management teams to achieve business objectives and project deliverables.Build and maintain strong relationships with global suppliers and manufacturing partners to ensure long-term strategic alignment and supply continuity.The Successful ApplicantBachelor's Degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, Business, or a related technical discipline.Minimum 10 years of experience within Engineering, Manufacturing, Supplier Quality, Commodity Management, Strategic Sourcing, or Supply Chain functions.Strong experience in high-speed interconnects, fibre optics, connector manufacturing, cable harnesses, or related industries.Solid understanding of supplier quality management systems and audit requirements.Experience with Build-to-Print mechanical products and complex manufacturing environments.Strong knowledge of quality tools and methodologies, including: Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, DMAIC, DPPM, GD&T, IPC StandardsProven track record in supplier development, cost reduction, localization, and strategic sourcing initiatives.Excellent analytical, negotiation, stakeholder management, and problem-solving skills.Ability to influence cross-functional teams and drive results within a global matrix organization.Strong communication skills in English and Mandarin.
