Job Description

  • Manage Linux systems to maintain reliable and available technology services.
  • Monitor system performance and address technical issues to reduce service disruption.
  • Configure and maintain Linux environments in line with operational requirements.
  • Investigate incidents, identify root causes and implement practical fixes.
  • Apply system updates and patches to keep Linux platforms current.
  • Maintain technical documentation for Linux configurations, changes and known issues.
  • Work with technology colleagues to coordinate system changes and resolve dependencies.
  • Review system capacity and performance trends to support ongoing service delivery.

The Successful Applicant

A successful Senior Linux Engineer should have:

  • Minimum 8 years of hands-on Linux administration and engineering experience in BFSI domain.
  • Strong technical expertise in:
    • NixOS
    • Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL)
    • GUIX or other immutable Linux operating systems
  • Proven experience deploying and supporting enterprise Linux environments.
  • Strong understanding of:
    • Linux Networking
    • TCP/IP
    • Layer 2 Networking
    • VLANs
    • Security Zoning
    • Stateful Firewalls
  • Hands-on experience with nftables and Linux firewall administration.
  • Experience integrating Linux platforms with enterprise firewall technologies such as:
    • Cisco
    • Fortinet FortiGate
    • Palo Alto Networks
    • Check Point
  • Strong troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and infrastructure support capabilities.
  • Experience operating within enterprise or data centre environments.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to articulate technical concepts clearly.
  • Banking industry experience is highly preferred.
  • Must be committed to a contract-based project engagement.



Highly Advantageous:

  • Experience with Cilium for cloud-native networking and security.
  • Experience with Suricata IDS/IPS and Zeek network monitoring solutions.
  • Kubernetes and Docker exposure.
  • Automation and configuration management experience using Ansible, Puppet, or SaltStack.
  • Scripting experience with Bash, Python, or Shell scripting.
  • Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
  • Relevant certifications including RHCE, RHCSA, LFCS, LFCE, CKA, or ITIL Foundation.
