About Our Client

Our client is a fast-growing technology company within the fintech and digital payments ecosystem. As the business continues to expand its digital payment capabilities and strengthen its technology platform, they are looking for an experienced Product Manager, specializing in Payment Gateway to take ownership of a strategic payment portfolio.

Job Description

  • Own and drive the end-to-end product roadmap for payment gateway solutions, from integration and launch through to optimisation and scaling.
  • Define product strategies across payment gateways, subscription billing, payout integrations and merchant onboarding.
  • Evaluate and manage integrations with payment processors, acquirers, gateway partners and local payment methods.
  • Drive continuous optimisation of transaction success rates, checkout experience, payment routing and processing costs.
  • Manage the full payment lifecycle, including authorisation, capture, settlement, payout, reconciliation, tokenisation, refunds and chargebacks.
  • Translate complex payment workflows, regulatory requirements and API specifications into clear product requirements, user stories, process flows and acceptance criteria.
  • Partner closely with frontend and backend Engineering teams in an Agile/Scrum environment to develop scalable payment solutions.
  • Drive payment integration capabilities across REST APIs, webhooks, SDKs and microservices.
  • Ensure seamless integration experiences between internal platforms, merchants and external payment partners.
  • Monitor payment and processor performance, identify transaction bottlenecks and drive improvements to the overall payment experience.
  • Work closely with Engineering, Compliance, Finance, Risk and Operations teams throughout the product lifecycle.
  • Ensure payment products adhere to relevant security and regulatory requirements, including PCI-DSS, 3D Secure (3DS2) and applicable cross-border payment requirements.
  • Collaborate with relevant teams to strengthen fraud detection, chargeback management and identity verification processes.
  • Support the rollout of new payment capabilities, integrations and payment methods as the business continues to scale.

The Successful Applicant

  • 5+ years of Product Management experience within payments, payment gateways, merchant acquiring or fintech.
  • Strong understanding of the end-to-end payment lifecycle, including authorisation, settlement, reconciliation, payouts and chargebacks.
  • Hands-on experience with payment gateway and API integrations.
  • Good knowledge of REST APIs, webhooks and microservices architecture.
  • Familiar with payment security and compliance standards such as PCI-DSS and 3DS2.
  • Experience working closely with Engineering and technical teams in an Agile environment.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving and stakeholder management skills.
  • Experience within PSP, fintech, merchant acquiring, e-wallet or SaaS payment platforms is highly preferred.
