Job Description

  • Manage firewall engineering activities to support secure network operations.
  • Configure and maintain firewall environments in line with agreed technical requirements.
  • Review firewall rules and configurations to help maintain appropriate network access.
  • Investigate firewall-related incidents and resolve technical issues within agreed timelines.
  • Monitor firewall performance and identify areas that require configuration updates.
  • Document firewall configurations, changes and technical findings for clear operational records.
  • Work with Technology colleagues to coordinate firewall changes and maintain service continuity.

The Successful Applicant

A successful Senior Firewall Engineer should have:

  • Minimum 6 years of hands-on experience implementing and supporting enterprise firewall technologies in BFSI domains.
  • Strong experience with:
    • Fortinet FortiGate
    • Cisco ASA
    • Palo Alto Networks Firewalls
    • Check Point Firewalls
  • Strong understanding of networking concepts including Routing & Switching.
  • Proven experience implementing:
    • Security Policies
    • NAT
    • VPN (IPSec & SSL)
    • Access Control Lists (ACLs)
    • High Availability (HA)
  • Experience managing firewall migrations, upgrades, production cutovers, and implementation projects.
  • Strong troubleshooting and root cause analysis capabilities.
  • Experience working within enterprise, financial services, telecommunications, or data centre environments.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts clearly to stakeholders.
  • Banking industry experience is highly preferred.
  • Commitment to contract-based opportunities and project-driven environments.



Highly Advantageous:

  • Zscaler Internet Access (ZIA) or proxy technologies.
  • Automation and scripting experience (Python, Ansible, Bash, PowerShell).
  • Basic Linux administration knowledge.
  • Cloud networking and security exposure across AWS, Azure, or GCP.
  • Relevant certifications such as PCNSE, Fortinet NSE/FCP, CCNP Security, CCSA/CCSE, or ITIL Foundation.
