Job Description

  • Manage and maintain enterprise database platforms to ensure optimal availability, performance, and reliability.
  • Perform database installation, upgrades, patching, backup, recovery, and routine maintenance activities.
  • Monitor database health, troubleshoot issues, and implement performance tuning initiatives.
  • Support and enhance High Availability (HA), Disaster Recovery (DR), replication, and clustering solutions.
  • Lead database migration, modernization, and capacity planning projects.
  • Implement database security controls, governance standards, and compliance requirements.
  • Support cloud-based database platforms and contribute to automation initiatives.
  • Collaborate with infrastructure, application, security, and vendor stakeholders to deliver scalable database solutions.

The Successful Applicant

A successful Senior Database Administrator should have:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • At least 5-7 years of Database Administration experience within enterprise production environments.
  • Strong hands-on experience with Oracle, Tibero, Microsoft SQL Server, PostgreSQL, or MySQL.
  • Expertise in database administration, performance tuning, SQL optimization, backup & recovery, HA, DR, replication, and clustering technologies.
  • Solid Linux/Unix administration and scripting capabilities.
  • Experience supporting mission-critical environments and resolving production incidents.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Exposure to AWS database services, MongoDB, automation, cloud migration, Grafana, or Prometheus would be advantageous.
