The Payroll Specialist is responsible for managing end‑to‑end payroll operations across the South ASEAN Hub (Malaysia, Singapore, Brunei, Indonesia). This role ensures accurate and timely payroll processing, compliance with statutory requirements, and effective coordination with internal stakeholders and external vendors.

Job Description

  • Manage full‑cycle, multi‑country payroll processing across the South ASEAN region, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with local statutory, tax, and regulatory requirements.
  • Coordinate and manage third‑party payroll vendors, ensuring service delivery meets agreed standards and timelines.
  • Perform payroll‑related financial closing activities, including reconciliations and journal postings.
  • Handle expatriate payroll matters, including tax compliance and reporting requirements.
  • Execute and maintain internal controls to ensure payroll processes comply with corporate governance standards.
  • Process employee claims and reimbursements in accordance with company policies.
  • Support internal and external audits by preparing documentation and providing required payroll data to tax authorities, auditors, and regulatory bodies.
  • Ensure adherence to company policies, procedures, and compliance standards.
  • Support process improvements and other payroll‑related initiatives as required.



The Successful Applicant

  • Bachelor's Degree or professional qualification in Accounting, Finance, or related disciplines.
  • Minimum 3 years of payroll experience, preferably with multi‑country or regional exposure.
  • Strong knowledge of payroll processes, statutory requirements, and tax regulations (including EA forms and tax calculations).
  • Experience working with payroll systems and/or outsourced payroll vendors.
  • High attention to detail, with strong accuracy and data integrity mindset.
  • Ability to manage tight deadlines and deliver high‑quality output under time pressure.
  • Strong problem‑solving skills and a proactive approach to issue resolution.
  • Good communication skills and ability to collaborate with cross‑functional stakeholders.
