Job Description

  • Plan, coordinate, and manage production schedules to meet company targets and customer demands
  • Lead and manage 24/7 production operations to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality output
  • Ensure full compliance with safety, health, and environmental (SHE) regulations across all activities
  • Monitor and continuously improve production processes to enhance efficiency and reduce operational costs
  • Drive cost-saving initiatives and process optimisation using Lean and Six Sigma methodologies
  • Analyse production data to identify trends, gaps, and actionable improvement opportunities
  • Lead root cause analysis for operational, safety, and quality issues, implementing sustainable corrective actions
  • Oversee hazardous chemical processes including polymerisation, distillation, and esterification
  • Collaborate with Engineering & Manufacturing teams to implement new technologies and optimise workflows
  • Build, mentor, and lead a team of 20+ production staff, fostering accountability, collaboration, and growth
  • Strengthen equipment reliability by ensuring proper maintenance and prompt resolution of technical issues
  • Partner with senior leadership to support plant transformation initiatives while enhancing documentation, knowledge transfer, and operational standards

The Successful Applicant

  • Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Polymer Engineering, Engineering, Manufacturing, or a related field
  • Proven experience in industrial and manufacturing environments, with strong expertise in production management
  • Hands-on experience in chemical manufacturing, preferably in polymerisation and/or distillation processes
  • Demonstrated leadership in managing production teams within complex, high-demand environments
  • Strong analytical capability to interpret production data and drive process improvements
  • In-depth knowledge of safety, health, and environmental (SHE) regulations in manufacturing settings
  • Excellent technical problem-solving skills with ability to perform deep root cause analysis
  • Proactive, hands-on, and driven mindset with the confidence to challenge the status quo and lead change
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, with proficiency in English and Bahasa Malaysia preferred
  • Effective decision-making, interpersonal, and team management skills to support cross-functional collaboration and operational excellence
