The Plant Manager is responsible to lead end-to-end manufacturing operations with a strong mandate to improve productivity, organizational capability and drive operational efficiency. The role combines hands-on execution with strategic leadership to deliver sustainable performance across safety, quality, delivery and cost.

Our client is a MNC manufacturing organization, operating an established production facility in Malaysia. They supply industrial and consumer products to regional customers. The business operates in a technically demanding environment and is focused on operational discipline, continuous improvement and long-term sustainability.

Job Description

  • Own plant P&L and provide overall leadership for plant operations, covering manufacturing, supply chain, purchasing, quality and HSE
  • Drive improvements in safety, quality, delivery, cost, and productivity across the site
  • Lead operational excellence initiatives to improve OEE, reduce scrap, and optimise labour efficiency
  • Own site financial performance including budgeting, forecasting, and cost control
  • Strengthen inventory management, working capital efficiency, and asset utilisation
  • Champion continuous improvement methodologies such as Lean and Six Sigma
  • Ensure compliance with quality standards, customer requirements, and safety regulations
  • Partner with regional leadership and cross-functional stakeholders to support business objectives
  • Lead, develop, and engage a large, multi-level manufacturing workforce

The Successful Applicant

A successful Plant Manager should have:

  • A degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, or a related field.
  • Strong knowledge of plant operations, production processes, and quality standards.
  • Extensive manufacturing leadership experience
  • Experience within injection molding operations is a strong advantage
  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  • Ability to manage budgets and analyze financial data effectively.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills for team management and collaboration.
  • Commitment to maintaining a safe and compliant work environment.
