About Our Client

This role is with a reputable and leading investment holding company, offering a leadership position in its legal department.

Job Description

  • Oversee all legal operations and provide strategic legal advice to the group company.
  • Ensure compliance with local and international laws and regulations.
  • Draft, review, and negotiate various contracts and other legal documents.
  • Manage legal risks and develop risk mitigation strategies.
  • Liaise with external legal advisors and regulatory authorities.
  • Provide counsel on corporate governance and company policies.
  • Lead and mentor the legal team to deliver high-quality legal support.
  • Monitor changes in laws and regulations.

The Successful Applicant

A successful General Counsel / Deputy General Counsel should have:

  • A recognised legal qualification and/or admission to the Malaysian Bar with at least 15 to 20 years of relevant legal experience.
  • Extensive experience in corporate and commercial law.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Excellent contract negotiation and drafting abilities.
  • A proven track record of providing strategic legal advice.
  • Familiarity with local and international regulatory frameworks.
