The Payroll & Local Delivery Senior Specialist is responsible for delivering accurate and timely payroll and local HR administration for Malaysia, ensuring full compliance with statutory, tax and regulatory requirements. This position plays a critical role in managing payroll accuracy, handling employee lifecycle administration, and ensuring seamless coordination between HR, Finance and external authorities mainly for the Malaysia region.

The organisation focuses on driving efficiency, compliance, and standardisation of processes while supporting high-volume, multi-country business operations.

Job Description

  • Manage end-to-end payroll processing for Malaysia, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with local statutory requirements (EPF, SOCSO, tax, etc.)
  • Perform variance checks and payroll reconciliations, ensuring all discrepancies are identified and resolved promptly
  • Support local HR administration
  • Preparation of employee letters and documentation
  • Handling stamping duties and submissions to relevant authorities (e.g., LHDN)
  • Processing termination and final pay calculations
  • Maintain accurate employee data in HR systems (e.g., SAP, Workday), including updates to compensation, benefits, and allowances
  • Manage and resolve queries via a ticketing system, ensuring SLA adherence and effective stakeholder communication
  • Coordinate with HR, Finance, and external vendors on payroll-related activities, including invoice processing where applicable
  • Support statutory reporting, audits, and compliance requirements

The Successful Applicant

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in payroll and/or HR operations, preferably within Malaysia payroll
  • Strong understanding of Malaysia statutory requirements, tax calculations, and payroll processes
  • Experience handling high-volume payroll operations is preferred
  • Familiarity with HR systems such as SAP or Workday, and strong Excel skills (e.g., VLOOKUP)
  • Exposure to shared services or multinational environments is an advantage
