Job Description

  • Perform OS and application patching on Windows and Linux operating systems using appropriate tools such as WSUS, Landscape (Canonical), and related platforms.
  • Execute virtual machine snapshots and backups on VMware environments prior to patching or maintenance activities.
  • Carry out restoration procedures on Windows, Linux, and VMware environments as required.
  • Perform OS upgrades across both Windows and Linux systems.
  • Use SCOM as a daily monitoring tool to track system health and identify potential issues.
  • Support team performance by contributing to positive team dynamics and providing feedback to the infrastructure team.
  • Create and maintain documentation, including daily and weekly progress or status reports.
  • Create and manage Incident, Service Request, and Change Request tickets using ITSM tools.
  • Respond to email alerts and ITSM tickets promptly, providing timely updates to all relevant stakeholders.
  • Provide 24×7 rotating on-call support as part of operational requirements.
  • Perform system activities during off-peak hours, including patching, upgrades, and server shutdowns.
  • Review and update business SLA documentation to ensure accuracy and compliance.

The Successful Applicant

A successful Patching professional should have:

  • Bachelor in Computer Science or related discipline;
  • Holder of ITIL Foundation or above is a plus
  • >2 years relevant working experiences in Windows/Linux patching technology
  • Basic understanding of Windows/Linux operating systems
  • Self-motivated, quick learner, Can-do attitude and able to work under pressure
  • Good written and verbal communication skills in English, Mandarin and Cantonese is a plus
  • Knowing in virtualization (VMware) technology is a plus
  • Willing to work night shift & and on public holidays
