The Manufacturing Engineering Lead will be responsible to oversee and coordinate multidisciplinary engineering teams to deliver complete design, documentation, and production readiness for factory-built systems. The role ensures quality, schedule adherence, resource optimisation, and risk mitigation from initial work order release through testing, validation, and final dispatch.

Job Description

  • Lead and coordinate electrical, mechanical, controls, and CAD engineering teams to deliver complete and accurate drawing packages
  • Review and validate sequence of operations documentation for power, HVAC, and control systems
  • Oversee preparation of commissioning documentation including FAT scripts and testing procedures
  • Identify and resolve technical design clashes early across systems and components
  • Review engineering design packages and ensure production teams understand requirements
  • Conduct build readiness reviews with production, quality, HSE, and supply chain teams
  • Validate vendor-supplied equipment documentation and ensure compliance with integration standards
  • Allocate engineering resources and manage workloads to meet production milestones
  • Identify risks related to design, manufacturing, and integration and implement mitigation plans
  • Lead post-project reviews to capture lessons learned and drive continuous improvement
  • Mentor and coach engineering teams to enhance technical capability and manufacturability awareness
  • Promote a strong culture of safety, quality, and accountability across teams

The Successful Applicant

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering
  • Around 8 years of experience in engineering leadership, factory operations, or manufacturing
  • Experience with metal fabrication, equipment installation, or industrial systems (preferred)
  • Strong knowledge of low voltage electrical systems, mechanical assemblies, and HVAC systems
  • Proven ability in production coordination, resource planning, and cross-functional collaboration
  • Experience reviewing engineering drawings and bills of materials
  • Hands-on involvement with Factory Acceptance Testing and documentation
  • Strong communication, leadership, and organisational skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects while maintaining quality and deadlines
