Job Description

  • Provide legal and compliance advisory support.
  • Identify and mitigate legal and regulatory risks.
  • Monitor regulatory and legislative developments.
  • Review contracts, policies, SOPs, and legal documents.
  • Liaise with regulators, authorities, and legal counsel.
  • Lead compliance training and awareness programs.
  • Oversee AML/CFT/KYC compliance and reporting.
  • Conduct compliance reviews and monitoring exercises.
  • Manage investigations, complaints, and whistleblowing cases.
  • Support litigation and tribunal matters.
  • Act as the Data Protection Officer (DPO).
  • Handle data breach investigations and reporting.
  • Manage and review external legal panel firms.

The Successful Applicant

A successful Manager / Senior Manager, Legal & Compliance should have:

  • Degree in Law, Business, Management, or related field.
  • 8-15 years of Legal & Compliance experience.
  • Financial services, banking, or insurance background preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of BNM regulations and AML/KYC.
  • Experience dealing with regulators and external counsel.
  • Familiar with Consumer Credit Act and Hire-Purchase Act.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
  • Willing to travel for compliance review activities.
