Job Description

  • Provide legal and compliance advisory services to business units, functions, and group entities across the APAC region, with a primary focus on Malaysia, ensuring compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and corporate policies.
  • Partner with cross-functional stakeholders to assess legal implications, identify and mitigate business risks, and deliver practical legal guidance that supports strategic initiatives and day-to-day operations.
  • Support mergers, acquisitions, corporate reorganisations, integrations, business expansions, and divestments across APAC while coordinating with internal functions and external legal counsel to facilitate successful project execution.
  • Draft, review, negotiate, and manage a broad range of commercial agreements, including procurement, real estate, and compliance-related contracts, while developing and maintaining standard contract templates.
  • Coordinate legal reviews with key corporate functions, including Export Control, Tax, Finance, Insurance, Human Resources, and Real Estate, to ensure contractual, regulatory, and operational compliance throughout the transaction lifecycle.
  • Manage corporate governance and corporate secretarial matters, including the preparation, review, and maintenance of statutory records and governance documentation for corporate entities.
  • Support the implementation and monitoring of ethics and compliance programmes, including anti-corruption initiatives, third-party due diligence, risk assessments, policy deployment, and compliance monitoring across the APAC region.
  • Develop and deliver legal and compliance training programmes for employees, business partners, and third parties to strengthen awareness of legal obligations, ethical standards, and internal compliance policies.
  • Assist with internal investigations, whistleblowing case management, litigation and arbitration support, including evidence gathering, witness interviews, report preparation, and coordination with external legal counsel.
  • Monitor legal and regulatory developments, oversee corporate legal matters, and provide ongoing legal support while contributing to continuous improvements in governance, risk management, and compliance frameworks.



The Successful Applicant

A successful Legal & Compliance Counsel should have:

  • A Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.) with at least 6 to 8 years of combined private practice and in-house legal experience. Experience working in a multinational corporation (MNC) is an added advantage.
  • Proven track record in corporate legal and compliance matters.
  • Excellent contract drafting and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to analyse complex legal issues and provide practical solutions.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in legal research and regulatory compliance tools.
