They invest in product development, continuous improvement, and engineering excellence to support long-term growth and customer success.Job DescriptionLead research and development activities focused on new products, innovation, and product improvements.Identify market, customer, and operational needs and translate them into product concepts and development plans.Research new materials, technologies, manufacturing methods, and engineering tools.Develop concepts, prototypes, proof-of-concepts, and alternative design solutions.Plan and execute feasibility studies, prototype development, testing, and validation activities.Define test plans, validation methods, acceptance criteria, and technical risk assessments.Analyze test results and drive design improvements to achieve performance, quality, cost, and manufacturability targets.Prepare and maintain engineering documentation, reports, drawings, BOMs, specifications, and validation records.Ensure accurate product data, traceability, and documentation within CAD, PDM, and ERP systems.Collaborate with product management, manufacturing, quality, procurement, sales, and global stakeholders on product development projects.Facilitate technical reviews, workshops, and decision-making sessions.Monitor industry trends, competitor products, and emerging technologies to support innovation initiatives.Promote knowledge sharing, standardization, modularization, and continuous improvement across engineering teams.Provide technical leadership and mentorship to engineers and designers.Support additional tasks assigned by management when required.The Successful ApplicantBachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Product Design, Industrial Design, or a related discipline.Minimum 7 years of experience in R&D, new product development, mechanical design, prototype development, or product engineering.Proven track record of leading projects from concept, feasibility, testing, and validation through to product release.Strong knowledge of mechanical assemblies, welded structures, sheet metal design, material selection, tolerancing, and engineering calculations.Experience with prototype development, design validation, and technical risk assessment.Familiarity with manufacturing processes including machining, welding, forming, finishing, and assembly.Proficiency in 2D and 3D CAD software, preferably Autodesk Inventor, Vault, and AutoCAD.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to evaluate technical risks and make sound engineering decisions.Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.Self-motivated, structured, detail-oriented, and comfortable working in cross-functional development environments.What's on OfferPermanent position with a multinational company.Opportunities for professional growth within the industrial and manufacturing industry.ContactBan Keat ChewQuote job refJN-082026-7092839Phone number+60 323024083Job summaryFunctionEngineering & ManufacturingSpecialisationEngineering Design, R&D and NPIWhat is your area of specialisation?Industrial / ManufacturingLocationShah AlamContract TypePermanentConsultant nameBan Keat ChewConsultant contact+60 323024083Job ReferenceJN-082026-7092839
