Our client is a well‑established multinational engineering business providing engineered equipment and aftermarket support to major Oil & Gas operators in Malaysia. With a strong installed base and long‑standing customer approvals, the organisation operates across both sales and service to support asset reliability, performance, and lifecycle value, backed by regional leadership.

Job Description

This position will lead the commercial agenda in Malaysia, combining strategic leadership with hands‑on execution across sales and service to deliver sustainable growth.

  • Lead, coach, and develop a national sales team, driving capability, accountability, and performance.
  • Own and execute the sales and service commercial strategy for Malaysia, aligned with regional objectives.
  • Manage and grow key Oil & Gas accounts, including strategic national energy customers such as Petronas.
  • Drive upsell, replacement, and aftermarket opportunities within an established installed base.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with senior customer stakeholders across commercial and technical functions.
  • Develop and manage annual sales budgets, forecasts, and pipelines, ensuring accuracy and delivery against targets.
  • Support and lead major contract negotiations and commercial discussions.
  • Work closely with service teams to maximise lifecycle value, customer satisfaction, and retention.
  • Identify new market and project opportunities in collaboration with regional and global stakeholders.
  • Act as a visible senior leader, contributing to talent development, succession planning, and continuous improvement.


The Successful Applicant

This role requires a senior commercial leader with deep Oil & Gas exposure, including hands‑on experience selling to major O&G industry players, strong technical credibility, and the capability to lead and develop a sales team within a structured, multinational engineering environment.

  • Bumiputera background preferred, aligned to business and customer engagement requirements.
  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related engineering discipline, with strong technical grounding.
  • Strong Oil & Gas sales experience, with an established network across major operators, including direct exposure to Petronas.
  • Proven track record selling engineered / technical products, ideally within sealing equipment, rotating equipment, or similar applications.
  • Senior‑level people leadership experience, including leading, coaching, and performance‑managing a sales team.
  • Ability to engage confidently with senior customer stakeholders, including engineering, maintenance, procurement, and management teams.
  • Strong commercial acumen, with experience managing sales targets, budgets, forecasts, and pricing strategies.
  • Demonstrated success growing key accounts and aftermarket revenue through an installed base.
  • Comfortable operating within a structured, compliance‑driven environment, including navigating different business entities.
  • Results‑driven, hands‑on leader with strong communication and influencing skills.
