This position focuses on customs classification, HS code management, trade compliance support, and regulatory governance activities covering both chemical and non-chemical products. Working closely with global customs classification teams and trade compliance stakeholders, you will be responsible for supporting tariff classifications, maintaining classification data, researching regulatory requirements.

As part of its continued investment in Global Trade Compliance and Customs Governance capabilities, the organisation is expanding its Global Customs Classification team to support customs classification, tariff management, trade compliance, and regulatory activities across international operations.

Job Description

  • Perform customs classification and HS code determination for chemical products, raw materials, and non-chemical material
  • Maintain customs classification master data within internal systems and databases
  • Support business queries relating to customs classification, tariff codes, duties, and trade regulations
  • Research and interpret customs regulations, tariff schedules, and foreign trade requirements
  • Monitor regulatory changes and support classification reviews when required
  • Investigate classification discrepancies and tariff classification issues, while supporting issue resolution activities
  • Prepare supporting documentation, classification justifications, operational reports, and compliance records
  • Support customs compliance assessments, audits, health checks, and governance initiatives
  • Maintain operational documentation including SOPs, work instructions, and process guides
  • Participate in digitalisation, automation, and system enhancement initiatives related to customs and trade compliance
  • Collaborate with global stakeholders to support customs governance and classification harmonisation efforts

The Successful Applicant

A successful Global Customs Classification (Executive) should have:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Science, or related disciplines
  • 1-3 years of experience within Customs Classification, Customs Compliance, Trade Compliance, Foreign Trade, Supply Chain, Logistics Compliance, or related functions
  • Understanding of HS Codes, tariff classification principles, customs regulations, or international trade processes
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret technical and regulatory information
  • Good communication and stakeholder management capabilities
  • Knowledge of customs regulations, tariff schedules, and foreign trade requirements would be advantageous
  • Exposure to Chemical, Pharmaceutical, Manufacturing, Logistics, or Trade Compliance environments is preferred
  • SAP or SAP GTS exposure would be advantageous
  • Fresh graduates with relevant academic backgrounds and strong interest in customs classification or trade compliance are encouraged to apply
