Job Description

  • Collect and analyse energy consumption data continuously.
  • Oversee meter installation and ensure accurate, reliable data collection.
  • Monitor operational performance and progress once energy‑saving measures or systems are implemented.
  • Lead the implementation and ongoing monitoring of the organisation's EnMS.
  • Adapt an existing Denmark‑developed energy‑management framework to align with Malaysian regulatory and operational requirements over the next 6-7 months.
  • Prepare accurate and timely Energy Efficiency & Conservation (EE&C) reports.
  • Review and utilise energy audit reports produced by Registered Energy Auditors (REA).
  • Generate insights from energy‑data trends to support energy‑efficiency planning and project development.
  • Recommend energy‑saving initiatives and monitor their implementation and effectiveness.
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation and records to comply with regulatory requirements and inspection guidelines.
  • Perform additional tasks as required by the Commission.
  • Monitor and analyse energy consumption across operations to identify improvement opportunities.
  • Implement energy‑saving initiatives and ensure compliance with relevant energy standards and regulations.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to optimise energy performance in production and operational processes.
  • Prepare detailed energy‑usage reports and recommend cost‑reduction strategies.
  • Engage with vendors and suppliers to source energy‑efficient technologies and equipment.
  • Conduct regular energy audits and ensure the upkeep and effectiveness of energy‑management systems.
  • Stay updated on emerging energy technologies and assess their suitability for organisational adoption.
  • Provide staff with training and awareness programmes on energy conservation and efficient practices.

The Successful Applicant

  • Degree in engineering, energy management, or a related technical field.
  • Strong technical understanding of energy management within industrial or manufacturing settings.
  • Proficient in analysing energy data and preparing detailed technical reports.
  • Familiar with energy‑saving technologies, equipment, and industry best practices.
  • Excellent problem‑solving skills and meticulous attention to detail.
  • Able to work effectively with cross‑functional teams and stakeholders.
  • Committed to staying updated on industry developments, emerging technologies, and regulatory changes.
  • Solid knowledge of EnMS development, implementation, and monitoring in line with regulatory standards.
  • Understanding of M&V methodologies for evaluating Energy Saving Measures (ESMs).
  • Capable of reviewing REA‑submitted energy audit reports for submission to the Energy Commission.
  • Skilled at identifying and extracting key data for annual EE&C reporting.
  • Effective communicator, especially when collaborating with EMC members and senior management.
  • Able to plan, manage, and maintain EnMS documentation for compliance inspections.
  • Consistent in documenting all EnMS activities to meet EECA 2024 requirements.
  • Added advantage: ISO 50001 knowledge, strong teamwork, a related degree with over 3 years' experience, and REM Type I/II certification.
