Due to ongoing business growth and strategic investment initiatives, they are seeking an Assistant Manager, Strategic Procurement (CAPEX) to lead and support capital expenditure procurement activities across manufacturing and operational functions. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing sourcing strategies, managing procurement projects for capital equipment and services, conducting supplier evaluations and negotiations, and ensuring procurement activities align with business objectives, budget requirements, and compliance standards.

This role plays a critical part in driving procurement excellence by partnering closely with Engineering, Manufacturing, Operations, Finance, and key stakeholders to support capital investment projects. The ideal candidate will possess strong experience in CAPEX procurement, strategic sourcing, contract negotiation, supplier management, and project-based purchasing within a manufacturing environment. Additionally, the candidate should demonstrate strong analytical, stakeholder management, and cost optimization capabilities to support the organization's long-term growth and operational efficiency objectives.

Job Description

  • Lead strategic sourcing and procurement activities for CAPEX projects, equipment, machinery, facilities, and MRO categories to ensure cost-effective and sustainable procurement solutions.
  • Develop and execute category sourcing strategies in collaboration with regional and global stakeholders, ensuring alignment with business objectives, operational requirements, and procurement governance.
  • Manage the end-to-end sourcing lifecycle, including requirements gathering, supplier identification, tendering (RFX), commercial evaluation, negotiations, contract management, and supplier award recommendations.
  • Drive procurement savings initiatives and cost optimization programs by leveraging spend analysis, market intelligence, supplier negotiations, and strategic sourcing methodologies.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, regularly evaluating supplier performance, managing supplier development plans, and ensuring continuous improvement in quality, cost, delivery, and service.
  • Partner with engineering, manufacturing, facilities, finance, and project stakeholders to support capital investment projects and ensure procurement requirements are delivered on time and within budget.
  • Monitor contract compliance, supplier risk, category performance, and procurement KPIs while identifying opportunities to improve procurement processes, supplier management practices, and overall operational efficiency.



The Successful Applicant



Education

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Procurement, Engineering, Finance, or a related discipline.
  • Professional certifications such as CIPS, CPSM, CPM, or equivalent will be an added advantage.



Experience

  • Minimum 6 to 8 years of experience in Strategic Procurement, Category Management, or Strategic Sourcing.
  • Proven experience managing CAPEX and/or MRO procurement categories within a manufacturing environment.
  • Demonstrated success in managing complex sourcing projects and high-value procurement activities.
  • Experience working with cross-functional stakeholders, including Engineering, Manufacturing, Facilities, Finance, and Project Management teams.
  • Exposure to regional or global procurement environments is highly preferred.

  • Exposure to healthcare, medical device, pharmaceutical, electronics, or advanced manufacturing industries.
  • Experience implementing supplier development and supplier performance improvement initiatives.
