About Our Client

This reputable MNC is recruiting for a position within the professional services industry located in Kuala Lumpur.

Job Description

  • Draft, review, negotiate, and/or manage various commercial agreements throughout the full contract lifecycle.
  • Provide legal advice on customer and vendor contracts, including amendments, renewals, terminations, novations, dispute resolution, and regulatory compliance.
  • Partner with internal stakeholders and clients across Hong Kong, Singapore, Taiwan, and regional/global teams to support commercial and legal initiatives.
  • Identify contractual risks, ensure compliance with company policies, and escalate complex legal or commercial issues to appropriate stakeholders.
  • Lead contract management processes, coordinating cross-functional teams (e.g. Sales, Finance, HR, IT, and Marketing) to facilitate approvals and timely execution.
  • Support commercial activities by reviewing tenders, RFQs, RFPs, and RFIs, drafting responses, and advising business leaders on contractual and legal risks.
  • Advise senior management and HR on employment law matters, corporate governance, regulatory compliance, and strategic legal issues, while liaising with external counsel when required.
  • Develop and maintain legal templates, manage debt recovery matters, and deliver legal training to enhance commercial awareness and compliance across the business.



The Successful Applicant

A successful APAC Legal Counsel (1-Year Contract) should have:

  • Bachelor of Laws (LLB)/Juris Doctor (JD) qualification.
  • 4 to 6 years' post-qualification experience (PQE), gained across both private practice and in-house legal environments.
  • Proven experience in debt recovery, and dispute resolution/litigation matters.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence, negotiate, and effectively engage senior business leaders and management.
  • Commercially minded with the ability to balance legal and regulatory compliance while delivering practical, business-focused solutions and risk-based advice.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in both English and Chinese languages.
