Infrastructure Specialist responsible for administering and securing Linux-based Jump Hosts used to access isolated R&D lab environments globally. The role focuses on Linux administration, system hardening, authentication, audit logging, compliance controls, and privileged access management.

Job Description

* Administer Linux-based Jump Hosts supporting secure engineering environments

* Deploy, patch, and maintain Linux servers on VMware or Hyper-V

* Implement CIS hardening standards and security controls

* Configure PAM, SSH authentication, and access management controls

* Build and maintain export-control compliance workflows

* Manage audit logging and compliance reporting processes

* Administer local user accounts, RBAC permissions, and SSH key access

* Support CyberArk and Zscaler secure access integrations

* Troubleshoot authentication, shell access, and connectivity issues

* Support security audits and compliance reviews

The Successful Applicant

A successful RDL Jump Host Admin should have:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or related discipline
  • 4+ years of dedicated Linux System Administration experience
  • Strong Linux administration across RHEL, Rocky Linux, Ubuntu, and CentOS
  • Experience with Linux hardening and CIS Benchmarks
  • Strong knowledge of SSH daemon configuration and access controls
  • Hands-on experience with PAM (Pluggable Authentication Modules)
  • Experience managing local users, groups, permissions, and RBAC without Active Directory reliance
  • Knowledge of Syslog, Rsyslog, Journald, and secure log forwarding
  • Bash scripting and/or Python automation
  • Experience with compliance, audit controls, and security documentation
  • VMware vSphere, ESXi, Hyper-V, or equivalent virtualization platforms
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills in secure Linux environments
